A trio of Am Law 100 firms poached practice heads from rivals this week, traditionally one of the busiest times of the year for lateral moves.

In Washington, D.C., Covington & Burling brought on Eric Mogilnicki, who had been co-chair of Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr’s Consumer Financial Protection Bureau practice. DLA Piper picked up Jenner & Block’s antitrust chair, John Hamill Jr., in Chicago. And Patricia “Patti” Kantor, Locke Lord’s retail industry and consumer products chair, moved to Mintz, Levin, Cohn, Ferris, Glovsky and Popeo in New York.
