The Cleveland Browns have long been the laughingstock of the National Football League. But after another losing season, which ended Sunday as the team’s record sunk to 3-13, the embattled franchise fired its coach and general manager and announced that a lawyer would take the helm in an effort to right the ship.
On Sunday night, the Browns confirmed their promotion of former Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr associate Sashi Brown to executive vice president of football operations, making him the franchise’s top man for scouting and other gridiron-specific duties, such as managing the Browns’ 53-man roster.
