Lewis Roca Rothgerber, formed via a merger two years ago, has pulled off the first big firm combination of 2016 by absorbing Southern California-based IP boutique Christie, Parker & Hale and rebranding itself as Lewis Roca Rothgerber Christie.

The union, finalized by both firms on Jan. 1 and set to be announced Monday morning, was more than a year in the making. Lewis Roca Rothgerber managing partner Kenneth Van Winkle Jr. told The Am Law Daily last week that his firm began talking with Christie Parker’s management in May 2014.
