DLA Piper has scrapped plans to create its own contract attorney unit in the United Kingdom, and instead has entered into a formal venture with a British contract lawyer firm, (LOD) Lawyers on Demand. In an announcement Wednesday, the firm stated that it will roll out the collaboration in the U.K. first before extending it to other key markets early next year.

Stephen Allen, the firm’s service delivery and quality director, said in an interview that the firm isn’t currently planning to extend the model to the United States.
