The jury deliberating in the criminal trial of three ex-Dewey & LeBoeuf leaders did not reach a verdict Wednesday, but in a possible sign of progress they asked Acting Supreme Count Justice Robert Stolz to reread the elements of a conspiracy charge.
It’s the fourth of five charges the panel of seven women and five men has reheard as they decide the fate of former Dewey & LeBoeuf chair Steven Davis, former executive director Stephen DiCarmine and ex-CFO Joel Sanders. The three have been accused by the New York County District Attorney’s Office of orchestrating a scheme to alter Dewey & LeBoeuf’s financial records in order to mask the firm’s troubled financial state from lenders and investors.
