Defense attorneys for three former Dewey & LeBoeuf executives said Thursday that they would rest their case next week without calling any witnesses to testify, sending the high-profile criminal trial to a jury earlier than expected.
Meanwhile, prosecutors could drop almost half the charges of falsifying business records against the defendants. Peirce Moser, an assistant district attorney with the New York County District Attorney’s Office, said at a hearing that he may reduce the number of charges from 100 to 53 against former Dewey & LeBoeuf chair Steven Davis, former executive director Stephen DiCarmine and ex-CFO Joel Sanders.
