Canada’s Davies Ward Phillips & Vineberg has secured a victory for pro bono client Dutee Chand, a female sprinter from India and Olympic hopeful, who was previously banned from competition because of high levels of naturally occurring testosterone.

The Court of Arbitration for Sport handed down a ruling Monday suspending “for a period of no more than two years” the International Association of Athletics Federations’ hyperandrogenism regulations, which have been used to test the levels of testosterone in certain female athletes since 2011, after replacing a controversial gender verification policy.
