Time for another edition of news and gossip from the world of law.
1. Greenberg Traurig partner accused of road rage. Maybe she was having a bad day. Victoria Davis Lockard, the vice-chair of the firm’s pharmaceutical, medical device and health-care litigation practice, has been charged with aggressive driving and criminal trespass. ABA blog reports:
The complainant, 21-year-old Maura Gerke, told police that the incident began when she honked at a white Jaguar because she believed it wasn’t turning fast enough. Gerke said the Jaguar driver trailed her, then pulled up beside her and began honking.
According to the report by the investigating officer, “Maura Gerke told me that she flicked off the driver… (who) then threw an object at her which struck her window, shattering it. Maura Gerke began to cry and shake as she told me what happened.”
