Hinshaw & Culbertson, the go-to firm for law firms facing ethics and professional malpractice concerns, announced Monday that Janis Meyer, former longtime general counsel of now-defunct Dewey & LeBoeuf, joined the firm as a partner on Jan. 1.

Few if any other law firm ethics counsel have had quite the insider’s view of how things can go disastrously wrong as Meyer, the newest member of Hinshaw’s “Lawyers for the Profession” practice group. The mission of the 60-plus-lawyer group, according to the firm’s website, is to advise lawyers and firms on legal malpractice defense, professional ethics, firm structure and risk management.
