The patent licensing company Stragent LLC has ingratiated itself with the citizens of East Texas by building a dog park and a community garden in the region, among other charitable endeavors. But when the moment of truth arrived in a patent infringement case Stragent brought against Intel Corp, jurors in Tyler, Texas, sided with Intel and its defense lawyers at Perkins Coie.

The jury returned a verdict on Friday that Intel’s chipsets don’t infringe a network processing patent that Stragent acquired on the secondary market. Jurors also determined that the patent is invalid.
