What a curious piece in the Harvard Business Review blog about name changes. I guess it’s suppose to be useful—what’s typically called a “service piece” in magazine parlance—but I think it sends a confusing message to professional women.

Authored by marketing and branding consultant Dorie Clark, the HBR article, “How to Change Your Name and Keep Your Professional Identity,” is a step-by-step checklist of what people (we all know it’s directed at women, although it also references gays and transgenders) should do to ensure a smooth transition when they change their surname.
