Exxon Hit with $105 Million Jury Verdict in Multidistrict Litigation over Gas Additive

A federal jury in New York found ExxonMobil liable Monday for product liability, trespass, public nuisance, and negligence over toxic leaks that polluted drinking water in Queens. The case was the first over MTBE groundwater contamination to go to trial in multidistrict litigation consolidated in New York.
