If you could tell your managing partner just one thing, what would it be? The American Lawyer put that question to third-, fourth-, and fifth-years as part of our 2014 Midlevel Associates Survey and received about 1,500 responses. Some were complimentary (“Keep up the good work”). Some weren’t (“Buy nicer suits”). And a few were strictly for a local audience (“Add Mountain Dew” to the vending machine). Others, though, had thoughtful advice of more general appeal, on everything from communication techniques to expansion strategy. —R.T.
