Morgan Stanley has been keeping its lawyers at Davis Polk & Wardwell busy with litigation stemming from the subprime meltdown. And judging by two decisions issued this week, the firm is earning its keep.

As we reported, on Tuesday a Davis Polk team led by James Rouhandeh knocked out multiple named plaintiffs in mortgage-backed securities litigation against Morgan Stanley, potentially easing the bank’s pending bid to defeat class certification in the long-running case. On Thursday, Davis Polk’s Robert Wise Jr. won an appellate ruling that’s likely to finish off yet another financial crisis-era case against Morgan Stanley for good.
