I must have grown up in more promiscuous times. When I was in college and law school, it wasn’t totally scandalous for students and professors to date. And when I was working as an associate, I saw plenty of action between partners and associates, and lawyers and paralegals.

Sure, some were illicit relationships—usually between married partners and young associates or secretaries. But there were also some nice, wholesome relationships. (At my first firm, a junior associate and a widowed partner 20 years her senior used inter-office envelopes to send each other chocolate Kisses and love notes. So adorable. And, yes, they got hitched.)
