Clifford Sloan, the former U.S. Department of State’s special envoy on Guantánamo Bay, is returning to Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom’s Washington, D.C., office on Jan. 1, the firm announced Tuesday.

As a partner in the litigation group, Sloan will focus on complex litigation, intellectual property, appellate and constitutional law issues, as well as global strategy and risk management.
