Average revenue per lawyer (RPL) for The Am Law 100 declined in 2013, the first time since 2009, albeit only by 0.4 percent. Sixty-six firms reported gains in this metric, compared with 69 in 2012 and 74 in 2011.

Four firms had gains greater than 10 percent: Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan (18 percent), Simpson Thacher & Bartlett (14.9 percent), Shearman & Sterling (13.4 percent), and Vinson & Elkins (10.9 percent). O’Melveny & Myers had the largest decline in RPL, 8.6 percent, while Jenner & Block had the second-largest drop, 7.8 percent.
