The U.S. Department of Justice and the Federal Trade Commission have announced a joint antitrust policy statement (PDF attached to email) on the sharing of cybersecurity information, according to a post on the Hunton & Williams’ Privacy and Information Security Law Blog.

“The policy statement, as well as their remarks, emphasize the seriousness of the cybersecurity challenge and the need to improve cybersecurity information sharing,” noted the authors, who said the statement is an example of the Obama administration’s efforts to encourage the sharing of information relating to threats and vulnerabilities online.
