The Winter Olympics are about to commence and Europe is vying for a new title—but it’s not what you think. The European Union has ambitions to be the world’s leading trust cloud region, according to a post by Cynthia O’Donoghue in Reed Smith’s Global Regulatory Enforcement Law blog.

The “harmonious single market” for cloud computing would be known as “Fortress Europe” says O’Donoghue. The campaign is led by the European Commission, which recently released a memo in the attempt of gaining support for cloud services throughout the continent.
