The Grand Duchy of Luxembourg isn’t planning to take on a large investigation, according to Hunton & Williams’ “Privacy and Information Security Law Blog.” The Luxembourg Data Protection Authority recently announced it has no intention of investigating complaints regarding any involvement between Microsoft Luxembourg and Skype Software with the PRISM surveillance program.

A privacy rights group has previously filed a complained against Microsoft and Skype, which alleged their participation in the program violated the EU Data Protection Directive, along with similar complaints in Germany and Ireland. Both countries responded differently. According to the post, the German Data Protection Commissioners announced their intention not to issue new approvals for international data transfers and urged the European Commission to suspend certain contractual clauses regarding Safe Harbor provisions, whereas the Irish Data Protection Commission said it would not investigate the complaints.
