A former Thompson Hine secretary who discovered she was the subject of emails between partner George Walsh and his wife cannot sue for defamation because the communications are protected by spousal privilege and the comments were opinions, a Southern District judge has ruled.

    So she is fired for her email to the wife as a violation of firm policy, but apparently it's OK for lawyers (or at least partners) to reveal confidential medical information of their staff to spouses for no valid reason, and he is not disciplined for that? Amazing how there is never a double standard for partners at any of thes Biglaw firms!
