Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe posted modest revenue gains with thinner ranks in Ralph Baxter’s last year as chairman.
The firm’s gross revenue rose to $866 million, up 2 percent from the year before. That uptick, combined with a 7 percent drop in the total number of attorneys, yielded a 10 percent increase in revenue per lawyer. Profits per equity partner also rose 10 percent, to $1.63 million, as total partner headcount shrank by 5 percent.
