No sleepy summer doldrums here. Across the country, big-name lawyers in practices including mass torts, IP, labor and employment and environmental litigation all found new homes.

Some of the moves were surprising, like the former U.S. attorney with a book of high-profile clients who went solo, or the 11 lawyers who left Big Law to join an up-and-coming Chicago firm. Other moves, like the antitrust star who returned to Arnold & Porter Kaye Scholer, are not—but will re-jigger the competitive landscape nonetheless.
