Two top Am Law 100 firms are advising on the potential $1.3 billion sale of Major League Baseball’s Miami Marlins to an ownership group fronted by former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush and ex-New York Yankees star Derek Jeter.

The deal, whose financing is not yet complete and could take months to finalize, took shape Monday when Bloomberg reported that a bidder group comprised of Jeter and Bush had won an auction for the Marlins, who have been owned since 2002 by New York art dealer Jeffrey Loria. The Miami Herald reported that the Bush-Jeter group’s bid was $1.3 billion.
