Alvaro Gomez de Membrillera Galiana, a corporate partner at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett in London, has agreed to join Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison in the city.
Three sources briefed on the matter confirmed Paul Weiss’ recruitment of Membrillera, a capital markets and M&A expert who made partner at Simpson Thacher on Jan. 1, 2011. While Paul Weiss has reaped the benefits in recent months of some high-profile lateral additions, the hire of Mebrillera is an unusual one for the firm, which has only two partners in London after opening in the city back in 2011.
