When Anheuser-Busch InBev was preparing its $107 billion pairing with SABMiller plc, you wouldn’t have found the original members of Big Law’s new beverage guild pulling a seat up at the table—they would much rather spend their days with craft brewers.
Last month a group of lawyers, ranging from Am Law 200 partners to a number of in-house counsel at breweries, met over lunch while attending the annual Craft Brewers Conference in Philadelphia. It didn’t take long for the group to agree that they were all on board to form the Craft Beverage Lawyers Guild.
