DLA Piper, a global legal giant that just promoted 48 lawyers to partner on the heels of shuttering a tiny outpost in the Canadian wilderness, made two notable additions to its ranks last week.

The firm, as noted by sibling publication GlobeSt, welcomed Willkie Farr & Gallagher real estate partner EUGENE PINOVER to chair its commercial real estate group in New York and serve as a member of DLA Piper’s global real estate steering committee. Pinover previously chaired the real estate group at Willkie, where he served as co-lead counsel in late 2014 to New York-based real estate investment trust Paramount Group Inc. on its $2.29 billion initial public offering, a listing that generated $12.8 million in legal fees and expenses.
