Dentons’ rapid expansion efforts might have the firm covering the globe, but one senior counsel in the firm’s Chicago office has sought out a higher power.

MARY ANN HYNES, a former general counsel at suburban Chicago-based food ingredients supplier Ingredion Inc., joined Dentons nearly three years ago as senior counsel in the firm’s corporate governance, compliance and risk management groups. Hynes left the growing global legal giant last week to become general counsel of the Archdiocese of Chicago, according to sibling publication Corporate Counsel. With more than 2.2 million Roman Catholics, the archdiocese is the third-largest in the U.S., and it also runs the country’s largest private school system.
