About one-third of the 1,000 in-house lawyers who responded to the largest study of its kind on cybersecurity issues said their companies have experienced a data breach. Still, the survey indicated that some corporations are not taking basic precautions to prevent such a breach.

“The State of Cybersecurity Report,” released recently by the Association of Corporate Counsel (ACC) Foundation, says that breaches are more than twice as likely at the largest companies. Most participants held the position of general counsel or chief legal officer.
