While many Americans prepared for Thanksgiving family gatherings, several star litigators convened Wednesday in a jam-packed courtroom in downtown Manhattan to spend two hours arguing over the legality of daily fantasy sports.

Surrounded by an overflow crowd of reporters and other observers, high-powered lawyers for the two leading daily fantasy sports (DFS) companies, DraftKings and FanDuel, squared off against New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman’s office at a preliminary injunction hearing in state court.
