Soon after launching a string of new offices south of the U.S. border, labor and employment powerhouse Littler Mendelson is marching north. The firm announced Tuesday that its first Canadian outpost is now open for business in Toronto—with further expansion plans already on the horizon.
To make its move to Toronto, Littler scooped up seven laterals from two Canadian firms. The office’s managing shareholder, veteran employment and human rights lawyer Sari Springer, joined Littler from Cassels Brock & Blackwell, which has offices in Toronto and Vancouver. The other six lawyers—partners Barry Kuretzky, George Vassos and Monty Verlint; counsel Marnie Baizley; and two associates—constituted the bulk of local labor and employment boutique Kuretzky Vassos Henderson.
