Law firm leaders were a less hopeful bunch in the second quarter of 2015, according to the quarterly index of managing partner confidence released Wednesday by the Citi Private Bank Law Group. Respondents mainly cited lower expectations for improved growth in the legal industry and the economy.

Managing partners’ growth expectations for their own firms also moderated somewhat from the first quarter of the year, though they remained strong, the Citi survey showed. Respondents reported that they had tempered their outlook for revenue and profit growth, while hiring forecasts remained optimistic in the second quarter.
