After seven days of sometimes emotional testimony in the Dewey & LeBoeuf criminal trial, lawyers for both sides on Wednesday finally finished grilling the firm’s former finance director, Francis Canellas.

Prosecutors, meanwhile, now say that they’ll likely finish presenting their case against Dewey’s former leaders by early September. The Manhattan district attorney’s office had estimated earlier that it would need four to six months to present its case at the trial, which began in New York State Supreme Court in May .
