Nearly a year after a human rights lawyer was imprisoned for writing an article critical of Swaziland’s chief justice, Hogan Lovells attorneys have co-signed and submitted a petition asking the United Nations to intervene in the case.

The Hogan Lovells attorneys, led by Marc Gottridge, the co-chairman of the firm’s financial services litigation practice, and the International Commission of Jurists claim in the petition that Swaziland has violated international fair trial standards by convicting Thulani Maseko.
