With its hundreds of booths touting the newest legal technologies, the recent LegalTech New York trade show was just the latest evidence of the potential for disruption in the business of law. Of course, smart lawyers and their firms will always find pathways

to make a lucrative living. But everyone relies on some amount of commoditized work, if only to pad the bottom line, and depending on your firm’s circumstances, lean times could be coming. Should researchers have their way, artificial intelligence will continue to shake the foundations of document review, contracting and other less complex legal tasks.
