Eight months after DLA Piper issued a report recommending reforms to working conditions for migrant laborers building infrastructure projects ahead of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, an investigation by U.K. publication The Guardian finds those recommendations have largely gone ignored.
DLA Piper’s report, which was commissioned by the state of Qatar, called on that country’s government to review its visa system and to make it easier for migrant laborers to report complaints about employers, among other recommendations.
