An apparent slip-up by a Patton Boggs paralegal last June continues to haunt newly formed Squire Patton Boggs.

In November, the firm tried to convince U.S. District Judge Consuelo Marshall of the Central District of California that it shouldn’t be disqualified from a multibillion-dollar trademark lawsuit that has already earned the firm more than $12 million in fees. The judge’s preliminary decision did not bode well for the firm’s chances.
