I cover the legal profession all the time, so why would I need to read fictionalized accounts about it? And certainly not on my vacation. But I made an exception for David Lat’s premier novel Supreme Ambitions, which I read on the beach of Eleuthera, Bahamas, a few weeks ago.

To cut to the chase: I liked it! It’s a fun, breezy read. You don’t even have to be a lawyer (much less a federal court groupie) to find it entertaining.
