As in years past, Boies, Schiller & Flexner has trumped the already-high market standard for associate bonuses set by Simpson Thacher & Bartlett and a flurry of other firms, awarding year-end stipends as high as $350,000.
The average bonus payout for senior associates at Boies Schiller is about $150,000, whereas the average award for associates in classes 2008 through 2012 is around $90,000, the firm announced Tuesday. Two associates in those pools—one who participated in contingency fee work and the other who worked long hours and received some origination credit—will receive $350,000 bonuses, which exceeds last year’s maximum of $300,000.
