The Am Law Daily is taking a holiday break from its regular compilation of notable hires from across the Am Law 200 spectrum to focus on Bingham McCutchen, where a handful of big firms and even an insurance giant are the latest to benefit from a partner exodus of those not headed to Morgan, Lewis & Bockius.

Earlier this week, Morgan Lewis finalized the terms of a long-awaited deal that will see it absorb 750 lawyers and staffers from Bingham McCutchen, a once storied firm whose Boston-based roots date back to 1891. As chronicled in this space over the past few months, Bingham McCutchen was unable to recover from a disastrous financial performance in 2013, which saw a spate of partners leave the firm for positions elsewhere.
