A federal appeals court panel affirmed a ruling overturning the conviction of Albert Woodfox, who has been in solitary confinement almost continuously for more than 42 years as the last member of the Angola Three.
Woodfox has spent most of that time in a cell the size of a parking space. He and two other members of the Angola Three, Herman Wallace and Robert King, were all convicted of involvement in the 1972 stabbing death of a prison guard at Louisiana State Penitentiary in Angola, La.
