Baker, Donelson, Bearman, Caldwell & Berkowitz has closed its Huntsville outpost four months after the death of former U.S. Senator Howard Baker, Jr., whose grandfather founded the Tennessee office in 1888.

Baker, a recipient of The American Lawyer’s Lifetime Achiever award in 2008, died at the age of 88 on June 26, as reported by sister publication the National Law Journal. A senior counsel at the firm, Baker was the only attorney in the One Courthouse Square office of Baker Donelson at the time of his death, the firm said.
