Antivirus software maker Symantec recently announced that it will separate its businesses, joining a recent wave of companies such as Hewlett-Packard and eBay that have decided that two is better than one.
Symantec has turned to Fenwick & West for outside counsel on the matter, with a team headed by M&A cochair Douglas Cogen and corporate partner Gordon Davidson, who stepped down after 18 years as firm chairman last year.
