Fulawka v. The Bank of Nova Scotia

In one of the first major overtime class actions to reach settlement in Canada, The Bank of Nova Scotia, known as Scotiabank, agreed to pay thousands of its former and current employees for overtime wages dating back as long as 13 years. The settlement, first announced by the plaintiffs on July 24, was approved by the Superior Court of Ontario on Aug. 12. According to earlier projections by plaintiffs counsel, the bank could be responsible for upward of $95 million in back pay.
