More than 20 years after two men were convicted of kidnapping a teenage girl found strangled, stabbed and sexually assaulted, a Brooklyn appellate court has dismissed the pair’s indictments, faulting prosecutors for “burying” key documents in disclosures made just before trial.

As prosecutors from the Brooklyn District Attorney’s office pressed their case against Everton Wagstaffe and Reginald Connor, documents that could have been used as impeachment material had been mixed in with other submissions that were handed over to the defense just before jury selection.
