As Pennsylvania-based law firms were setting their sights on national and international markets, out-of-town firms started opening up shop in the state. With foreign expansion slowing down for many Pennsylvania firms and competition in the local market increasing, area firms are refocusing their efforts on their own backyards.

“It’s part of the cycle,” said Frank D’Amore, of recruiting and consulting firm Attorney Career Catalysts. “Certain firms here are probably not done, but a lot of the heavy lifting in respect to major markets has been done already, so as a result, I’ve been contacted” by firms wanting to again make their presence known in Pennsylvania.
