SACRAMENTO — A Hewlett-Packard Co. subsidiary pleaded guilty on Thursday to bribing Russian government officials to secure a technology contract valued at more than $45 million.

U.S. District Judge D. Lowell Jensen of the Northern District of California ordered ZAO Hewlett-Packard A.O., also known as HP Russia, to pay a $58.7 million fine under terms of a settlement agreement reached between the company and U.S. Attorney Melinda Haag’s office in April.
