It was about a year ago when I learned that the Jesuits—a religious order of the Catholic Church—would be opening their first school in Atlanta in August 2014.

The order grabbed headlines recently when Pope Francis became the first Jesuit elected to the papacy, but they are more commonly associated with some of the best educational institutions in the country, including Boston College and Georgetown University. As an alumnus of Strake Jesuit High School in Houston, Texas, I was excited to hear that they were finally bringing their traditions to Atlanta.
