SAN FRANCISCO — Paul Weiss partner Kenneth Gallo did everything but get down on his knees in court Friday as he pleaded for a second chance to save a price-fixing case worth as much as $110 million.

Gallo conceded he and his partners in the Washington, D.C., office of Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison missed the June deadline to opt out of a class settlement resolving claims against Samsung SDI Co. and Hitachi Ltd. over cathode ray tubes used in computer and TV monitors.
