Milwaukee’s tepid economic recovery continues to stall growth in the legal market, but there are signs of a turnaround, law firm managing partners said.

Industrial manufacturing, ­historically the city’s corporate base, is seeing a ­pickup in orders, said Fred Lautz, Mil­wau­kee-based managing partner of Quarles & Brady. There’s pent-up demand for acquisitions, and those companies are looking for opportunities to grow. “I think the indications going forward are stronger than they’ve been the last four years,” Lautz said.
